Organizing Petitions
ORGANIZING POSITIONS: Kate Simmer is potentially interested in field coordinator, but could only commit to 10 hours/day and mostly weekends because she’s already got 2 part-time jobs. Peter Pedimonti is going to look at past CCE canvassers to see if he can recommend anyone. Jess will follow up with him. Russell Burlingame is interested in media position. Will come tonight between 7-7:30.
PETITIONS: Dave has exactly double the signatures he needs. Gary has just enough, but needs more to be safe. Howie has about 2000, could use 500-1000 more to be really safe. Tom Seals has almost double. Cosmo has about enough to turn in, but needs another 100-150 to be safe. Russell and James can help with petitioning this week to help get the numbers we need. Russell will work with Gary and James will work on Cosmo & Seals districts. We need to work on proofing all the petitions as well and trying to correct signatures that can be directed. Jessica M. and Gary’s wife Jessica are both interested in helping to clean petitions. Don Hughes is helping as well.
MEDIA POSITION: We need someone to really keep up on the coverage, get us into media we aren’t getting coverage in, follow up with mainstream outlets to make sure we’re getting equal coverage, keep track of stories that are high profile, draft press releases, etc. We’ll have to set up a regular meeting time to go over media strategy for coming week and review past week’s coverage. Russell will start right away. We will pay $500 stipend for the position. Full payment will be made no later than 2 weeks after the election.
We’ll meet at Green Party office at 1pm on Saturday to get new folks set up with petitions and go over a press release to send out Sat. about turning in signatures. Jess will send email to Greens List.
