Monthly Meeting, Universal Healthcare, GMOs, campaigns!






Meeting Our monthly meeting of the Green Party of Onondaga Co is Monday evening, February 3rd ("tonight" if you are opening this email Monday morning). Unless otherwise noted, monthly meetings take place the first Monday of the month, 7pm, at 2013 E. Genesee St.  The agenda will include a presentation/discussion of the fiscal crisis and Gov. Cuomo's proposed budget, information about theMarch 22 Campaign School and more. If you have questions about the meeting, contact Barry, [email protected]. Single Payer NY - On Thursday evening, the CNY Reds are hosting a Socialist Forum titled "Beyond Obamacare" focused on Single Payer Health Care - 7pm ArtRage Gallery, 505 Hawley Ave. The event twill feature Andy Coates MD, president of Physicians for a National Health Program. He will go over the how and the why behind Single Payer and address the myth, misinformation and choices for healthcare beyond Obamacare. The event will feature Howie Hawkins as moderator and discussant. 

Running for Office and Campaign School The Syracuse Greens will host a Campaign School for prospective candidates and campaigners on March 22. Campaign school is intended for any Greens and activists interested in developing their campaign skills and anyone contemplating running for office as a Green. Currently, the Green Party of NY is seeking candidates for legislative and statewide offices. By becoming a dues paying member, you can help us develop the resources we need to run effective campaigns across the state. GMO Free CNY The next meeting for GMO Free CNY will be on Monday February 10, 6pm at the Center for Peace and Social Justice, 2013 E. Genesee St. The meeting is open to Greens and activists interested in getting involved in efforts to pass the NY GE Labeling bill in the NYS State Senate and State Assembly. RSVP here!
